Davis Street in the Community
Our Valuing Diversity commitment continues externally as we Partner with our communities. Davis Street staff and employees enjoy participating in our communities through initiatives like our partnership with St. Vincent de Paul of Alameda County in a Christmas Toy Drive.
We also participate in Leadership San Leandro, the San Leandro Chamber of Commerce, and the Airport Area Business Association.
Twice a year WM participates in the Bay Area Diversity Employment Day Career Fair hosted at the Oakland Convention Center as well working with local Workforce Investment Programs to identify qualified applicants
It’s not just about giving money. It’s also about partnering with the communities we serve to help achieve their sustainability goals.
- Ongoing education with local elected officials—touring facilities, ride-alongs, etc.
- Neighborhood and community clean-ups
- Open space initiatives—support for park projects, creek and shoreline cleanup’s
- WM Employee Volunteers—giving personal time in programs like public education and violence prevention.
