Davis Street Transfer Center Serves Up Success Through Innovation, Partnership and Dedication
This flagship of Waste Management’s Northern California operations began as a landfill in 1942. It remained so until 1979, when it became an Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) transfer station. In 1990, recycling processing was added to the site The Single Stream facility is the latest addition to the variety of recycling activities going on at this 56 acre site.
This facility supports nearly 20 different
Bay Area cities in achieving the required 75% diversion
of MSW from landfills. Our successes are achieved through
extensive partnerships with city and county authorities
and a team committed to safety and service.
Davis Street utilizes state of the art technology and over
250 employees to reach industry-leading diversion rates.
